We have a strict patch test policy in place, this is for the safety and wellbeing of our clients


Patch tests are compulsory for all new clients and existing clients that have not had a colour service at hair of dreams for over six months. It is the clients responsibility to ensure their patch test remains up to date and are able to attend their patch test no later than 24 hours before their colour service


All patch tests are recorded, signed and dated in the salon


Unfortunately we can not carry out colour services on clients who do not have a valid, up to date patch test record due to insurance purposes


You do not need to book in for a patch test, simply pop into the salon no later than 24 hours before your appointment during our opening hours (it only takes a couple of minutes) 


Please remember to leave your patch test on your skin for the full 24 hours to test for allergies or reactions. Rinse immediately if you experience any discomfort and please alert us of your reaction at the earliest convenience, we may be able to use an alternative brand for your patch test

 

Please note - If you fail to come in for your patch test, your colour appointment will need to be cancelled or rescheduled

Consultations last 15-30 minutes and are by appointment only. Speak 1:1 with one of our amazing stylists and ask them anything - we give honest and professional advice, maintaining the health of your hair is our utmost priority


Colour consultations include a patch test 


We advise that you only park in the 'Ringo' car park located on Nags Head Lane when booking in for colour and/or hair extension services to accommodate your full booking.

This is around a 4 minute walk from the salon so please allow enough time to get parked and walk to the salon


You will be able to park in the Tescos or Morrisons car park if you are booked in for a shorter/single service. These can include, but are not limited to;

- Cut & blowdry

- Styling

- Consultations

- Childrens hair cuts 

This is around a 2 minute walk from the salon so please allow enough time to get parked and walk to the salon


It is likely that due to how busy we are, you wil not have time to move your car during your appointment


If you are booked in with one of our beauty therapists they can advise you where is best for you to park based on how long your services will take


For colour services, this won’t be necessary as you will be having it washed in the salon. We do ask that if it is excessively greasy or has a lot of product build up that you wash it before your colour service to ensure there are no barriers preventing your colour from developing

if you have a hair extension appontment, please make sure you wash your hair the night before as this is not included in a new set or refit service


This will depend on your hair history and the desired result. The only way to lift out box colour is by using bleach, however, box dye can be very stubborn to lift and desired results may take several sessions of bleaching and toning. 


It is important to have a consultation and strand test if you have previously box dyed your hair as chemical reactions sometimes occur when previous box dye comes into contact with bleach




We have a variety of preferred products/brands for different purposes  


For colour services, our go-to brand is Matrix for permanent colours. We use a mix of Wella/Matrix for semi permanent colours depending on desired result. We are loving Redken shades eq gloss for root taps/melts as we have noticed these slowly fade with minimal warmth


For styling we use a mix of Moroccan Oil, Colour wow, L’Oréal, Kevin Murphy, Beauty Works & Remi Cachet 


We accept all major credit and debit cards including american express. Our card machine accepts apple pay


We also accept cash payments


You may tip our staff in cash or using our QR code in the reception area to tip by card which goes directly to your stylist


We have an ongoing colour discount every Wednesday (25% off your main colour service*) which is very popular among our clientele - we would recommend booking in advance 

Please note this promotion does not run through the month of December 


If you are looking to save money we are always looking for models for our apprentices for assessment purposes - these are always overlooked by a senior member of staff. Each service is individually priced but is usually around 50% off the Stylist price


We also run seasonal promotions for those who are opted into marketing via email


We are open late on Wednesdays & Thursdays until 8:00PM, Our latest appointment for a colour and cut will be between 5:30/6:00PM depending on stylist and services 


The rest of the week we are open until 5:00PM (We are closed on Sundays & Mondays)


We have gift vouchers available to purchase in the salon for hairdressing services.
